Beginning Poor Today, Doesn’t Necessarily Guarantee a Poor Ending
Key lessons from the life of Jephthah in Judges 11

He had a poor start in life, born by a harlot. He was sacked from his own father’s house by his half brothers who considered him an illegitimate son of his father Gilead, therefore not a part taker of his father’s inheritance.
In all his unfolding circumstances, Jephthah was a warrior. He suffered as a result of another’s decision and not for any wrong he had done. So Jephthah fled from his brothers and lived in the land of Tob according to Judges 11:3.
He had a band of worthless rebels following him. In this foreign land, he kept his cool and continued to better his skills as a warrior I believe. He sharpened his skills as a warrior I believe with all confidence.
In Judges 11:4, it came to pass that the Ammonites began a war against Israel. At that time, they had no better warrior to lead the army in this war. After realizing what Jephthah could do and how much skills he had as a great warrior, they had no option than to go for him to lead the army and subsequently make him the ruler over Israel. This is what God can do even in the midst of chaos and unfair judgement.
I am still talking to you about Jephthah the rejected one who later became the accepted leader of Israel. God used him in spite of man’s rejection.
If you are suffering from unfair rejection in this life, don’t blame others and become bitter and discouraged. Continue to work on yourself and hold on to that unique skill and virtue you have. Add more value to yourself. Do not sit idle and allow bitterness to cloud your focus of doing something worthwhile for yourself. Soon the world will come looking for your greatness.
Remember how God used Jephthah despite his unjust circumstances, and realize that he is able to use you even if you feel rejected by people.
Selah…
