One Day, We Shall Tell Our Stories

A day is coming!
We shall tell our stories!
Just like the ones we were told by the fire side!
By the fireside close to the lagoon!
We sat with our friends and family!
We listened to stories of Africa!
We were imbibed with the spirit of greatness!
Great stories of our fore fathers!
Those who began the uprising!
The surge for freedom, the surge for fulfilment!
These were the quest of our progenitors!
We sat by the river side, with a piece of cloth around our waste!
We danced into the night!
A dance of freedom!
A dance from Ghana!
We were high with love, love for brethren, love for the brotherhood, devoid of hatred, devoid of bad mouthing, devoid of strife of any sort!
A day is coming, we may have to revisit the past!
Yeah, we may have to go back for our heritage!
An heritage with great values!
A day is coming, the “proverbial sankofa” will perhaps make meaning to our corrupted heritage!
A day is coming, yes, a day is coming when we may may have to turn back the hands of time!
We shall celebrate once again!
Yes, we shall celebrate with great joy!
But now we cannot sing the Lord’s song in a strange land!
God bless our homeland Ghana!
